It All Started in 1987...

The Heritage House Restaurant is more than just a restaurant: it's a living testament to the importance of family ties and traditions. Founders, David and Cheri Savage, poured their hearts and souls into creating a cozy fine dining atmosphere that feels like home. The elegant 19th century family home, with its small dining rooms and intimate window alcoves, exudes charm and sophistication while still feeling cozy and welcoming. The enduring presence of David and Cheri's four children, as well as nieces and nephews, working at the Heritage House Restaurant, serves as a shining example of the restaurant's deeply ingrained family-owned operated spirt. After David's passing, Cheri continued to carry on the Heritage House Restaurant traditions with grace and style while serving exquisite dishes in a cozy fine dining atmosphere.

Keeping the Tradition Alive...

In 2022, local businessman Greg Dore, along with his wife Paula and their sons, purchased the Heritage House Restaurant with the intention of preserving the establishment’s beloved traditions. With a commitment to maintaining the same cozy fine dining atmosphere hat patrons have come to know and love, Greg has ensured that Chef Cindy Jo Chase remains at the helm of the kitchen, tantalizing diners with her expertly presented dishes and mouth-watering flavors. Greg is no stranger to the Skowhegan food scene, as he also owns the Old Mill Pub, which is renowned for its delicious pub fare and stunning riverside seating. In keeping with his farm-to-table philosophy, Greg sources his ingredients from local suppliers whenever possible, supporting other entrepreneurs in the community and ensuring that the restaurant continues to provide an authentic taste of Maine.
